A farming family involving four generations, Bomber County Produce takes its name from the County's historical links with the nearby Battle of Britain Memorial Flight and pays homage to a founding member who flew as a rear gunner in a Lancaster during WWII before turning his hand to farming after the war ended.
Rear Gunner, John Casey now aged 90 years (in 2014) vividly remembers his time serving on both 61 and later 83 Squadron and because of this, younger generations on the farm are acutely aware of his involvement in World War II and, having grown up within a stones throw of RAF Coningsby and the historic Battle of Britain Memorial Flight it has become an every day part of their lives. In recognition of this, Bomber County Produce has been involved in fundraising for the Lincolnshire Bomber Command Memorial and International Interpretation Centre to be built in Lincoln. So far over £1000 has been raised and John Casey and other family members have been lucky enough to be invited to some of the celebratory and fundraising events.
